The Vision and Mission
The vision of Franklin Christian Academy is to provide challenging academics, life-giving community and transforming discipleship. Our mission is to provide a Christian world view and servant leadership training. We partner with families to pursue college bound academics within a caring community, experienced through vital, committed relationships among faculty, students and parents. We honor Jesus Christ by integrating Christian discipleship into an academic setting that includes fine arts, athletics and global missions.
The School
Franklin Christian Academy is an independent, co-educational, 5 – 12, college preparatory school that began in August 2004 with its first graduating class in 2005. There are 95 students currently enrolled. FCA employs 18 full and part time faculty and staff. Of the 13 instructional staff, 60% hold advanced degrees.
Academic Program
We believe that becoming knowledgeable in the separate academic subjects, while important, is not sufficient. The biblical correlation to the classical model of grammar, logic, and rhetoric are the concepts of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. The knowledge or grammar stage of a student’s intellectual development is only a beginning stage. To be truly educated, a student must also make connections across the disciplines, discovering ways to integrate the separate subjects, and ultimately relating what they learn to life. This is accomplished, in part, as the student progresses from knowledge into understanding and, ultimately, wisdom. We offer several academic tracks for the student depending on their capabilities and desires: basic, college prep, and honors. Dual enrollment in a local college is also encouraged for those students who qualify.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from Franklin Christian Academy the student must have a minimum of 23 credits, take the ACT or SAT, apply to a minimum of two colleges and complete the community service requirement.
